The Haunted Garment: Trauma and the Body.

In an age where we are beginning to be directly affected by a warming planet, people are afraid that our generation and those to come will experience trauma related to climate change. The traumatic implications of these changes could be experienced while wearing this new garment. Through draping, I considered the scarred garment and how its previous life could drive design development. The lines created from scrunching and pinning through draping, I considered the lines made to be wounds. I employed staples as a medical stitch reference as both a finish and a tool to manipulate the existing design. Are garments haunted from their previous life?
