This is my cape.
It combines the concept of sentimentality with the practice of utilising secondhand linen instead of discarding it. The familial ties to the project are reflected in the panels of multiple sheets and curtains from family members, to act as a comfort object for during the pandemic months; isolated.
Having a constructed version of home wrapped around me provides a physical reminder of connections that seem far away, providing a nostalgic, child-like feeling.
The images are shot in a way that captures the connotations of loneliness and homesickness, with the video illustrating the comfort the garment brings.
