This garment is based off the idea of zero waste and using scraps that could be deemed ‘unwanted’ or ‘unusable’. I decided to choose the cut-piece method as it was most appropriate to combine the small scraps together. I used the larger scrap pieces to create a detachable skirt which is pinned to the bodice, and can be worn either way. The skirt is to add volume to the piece, and movement when worn. All materials used in the process were scrap fabrics collected from previous projects, mostly made of cotton.
