This project is inspired by the designer Selemon Susan Funke, who have created a series of garments using newspapers to reflect on sustainability. Newspapers used low-cost, non-archival paper consisting mainly of wood pulp, and recycled paper. The idea of this project is to demonstrate the concept ‘re-reuse’, which means to reuse the recycled paper, and this can also be used and recycled. Technologies are taking over the place of the physical books, and newspapers aren’t a daily necessity anymore. This project is also to remind people to be aware of physical reading and avoid excessive usage of electronic devices.
