Designing with unwanted and discarded materials

This final product was made with a deconstructed shirt, offcuts, and toiles of sleeves. Mainly took inspiration from the renowned designer Yohji Yamamoto who challenges convention and reframes beauty in a new light. I wanted to give my deconstructed shirt a new life in a different perspective by exploring asymmetry. Using offcuts has its own limitation but within that comes a new design and drape. This was produced by draping it on to the dress form and working my way from there. It was challenging in the beginning, but this creative journey has made me reflect on the importance of sustainability.
