Cuffed Pants

PROJECT STATEMENT: The idea behind my assignment outcome โCuffed Pantsโ was to develop a garment prototype that included my interest in the idea and methodology of deconstruction. This idea coupled with my excessive amounts of scrap business shirts pushed me towards the idea and outcome you see below. Through my investigation and development I found a lot of joy in working with the shirt signifiers (cuffs, collars, button etc.) as I loved seeing where on the body they would work and provide a function opposed to their initial design. I found inspiration in people like Maison Margiela and other artists which can take ordinary materials and implement them in bizarre and unique settings. This became the birth of my cuffed pants you will see below. Using 13 shirt cuffs and 7 collars I developed a mens flared pant prototype. I hope you enjoy ๐
