Body Landscapes: A sculptural approach to intuitive textile formations

Body Landscapes documents the active formations that result through intuitive exploration of textiles and the body. By utilising the method of automatism, creative direction is led unconsciously without pre-planned intentions, resulting in raw, spontaneous interactions. Bodies are associated as whole amongst objects, soft sculptures and its environment, which function as part of the installation as a living sculptural form. These elements combined share transactions of the physicality between life and inanimateness to activate new relationships with each variation. This exploration challenges the role of bodies and garments by neglecting their archetypes, instead objectifying textile and bodily matter as innately sculptural.
